Karl Friedrich Rapp (1882–1962) was a German mechanical engineer and businessman. He is best known for starting Rapp Motorenwerke GmbH in 1913, which later became the basis for BMW AG. Rapp was an important figure in the early German aviation engine industry and is often thought of as an indirect founder of BMW.
